La Murta nestles in a beautiful valley at the centre of the Costa Blanca Mountains and which the locals refer to as the "Marina Alta" and "Marina Baja".

The area is used by many professional teams for their winter training and is home to some top cyclists such as Team Garmin rider Trent Lowe. In a June 2009 interview with Cycle Sport magazine he described the area as "probably up there with the best places I have trained in around the world.".

The area offers all you could want as a recreational or competition cyclist. Everything from 400 metre climbs of switch-backs, hairpins and wonderful views through to more gentle, lush valleys laden with beautiful orange trees and mediterranean charm. All in a lovely temperate climate which averages over 6 hours of sunshine per day throughout the winter period.
