La Murta is right in the centre of the Costa Blanca Mountains. You won't need to ride 10 miles through more built up areas first: just open your front door and you are there!

A quick look at the road maps will give you a clear indication of the main routes to use. There are lots of wonderful circular rides you can make on the local mountain roads: you can take a look in more detail by zooming in on this google map.

eating and drinking

Almost every village in the mountains has several local bars where you can pick up food and drink. You may find them advertised at every opportunity for the previous half hour of your ride! The Spanish tend to have a main meal at lunchtime so you will always find food available in the middle of the day. Often their menu of the day serves up some wonderful home cook fare at very reasonable prices. Most shops shut from around 2-5pm so plan this into your day.
